?

Land Seeker Description

I am looking for a site between 1/4 – 2 acres to create a manicured garden for my online garden education business as well as to sell the produce for local chefs. I will use the garden to create digital content that will empower others to grow their own food. I have other a decade in experience managing certified organic, regenerative diversified farms and specialized in growing for chefs. In addition to diverse vegetable production, I also grow cut flowers, garden starts, and mushrooms. Ideally I am looking for a site that can be a long term lease, which I can invest significant time, energy, and resources into beautifying and making a production piece of land. Please see www.instagram.com/foxtrotorganicfarm for a visual resume of the farm I owned and operated.

What features of the property are essential?

Irrigation infrastructure, land free from contamination, septic and regular flooding. I would greatly appreciate some form of season extension, whether it is a greenhouse, high tunnel or otherwise.

Describe your farming experience

I have run my own successful, award-winning certified organic farm and market, and you can view my work at instagram.com/foxtrotorganicfarm.com.

I have also managed gardens for world-famous chef Rick Bayless, and installed/constructed/operated a 4,000 sq ft hydroponic greenhouse for Hawthorne Gardening Company to grow over 10,000 lbs of food in a year for donation to local food pantries.

Are you currently farming?

No

What are your short term goals for the land

I am starting an online educational gardening business, and am looking for 1/4-2 acres to manage in order to create content for this situation. The produce I grow will also be sold to local chefs, and would be available for sharing with the land owner.

What are your long term goals

I am to make my online gardening education business a full-time job, remaining at the 1/4-2 acre scale.

Describe your housing needs

I would be open to housing on-site but currently live in Portland, OR.

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

I am creating an online gardening education business that aims to empower everyone, regardless of their background, to grow their own food. I aim to offer sliding scale and educate others about low-cost/DIY methods in addition to more advanced methods.
