NW Oregon small plots for Christmas trees

Land Seeker Description

I’m searching for parcels to plant Christmas trees on over the next few years around NW Oregon. I will soon be based out of McMinnville with my typical forestry/logging work ranging from Corvallis to Portland. Ideally looking for land between Dallas and Hillsboro to compliment my usual working area.

I have the ability to do land clearing to convert unused ground into farm ground in conditions that would make sense. Ideally searching for leases the are sensible for the rotation length of Christmas trees.

What features of the property are essential?

Soil type and soil drainage play into the equation of healthy Christmas trees, but are relatively low maintenance in terms of land requirements.

Describe your farming experience

I've diversified my family experience in timber by working part time on a Christmas tree farm across the last 6 years. I also have experience in filberts and some vineyard work that I may be interested in exploring as well.

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

My goal is to help landowners utilize parcels of land that may otherwise be underutilized or unwanted by larger more traditional crop farmers. I feel these opportunities may give me the growing capacity to save towards my own piece of farm ground.

What are your long term goals

My goal is to lease Christmas tree ground long enough to ultimately purchase my own property that would support a U-Cut Christmas tree farm.

Describe your housing needs

No current housing is needed.
