Hello we are mixed race couple in per late 40s (me black wife Hawaiian-black). We are looking to lease land in or around Eugene maybe even as far as Corvallis. I currently live in Eugene and looking to lease land to grow chickens and if possible pigs. but initially I would be looking just to do the chickens at first just to get that established. Would also be looking into growing vegetables and herbs in the future.
Water electric possibly Internet if available but if not will get wireless hub for home mostly a place to live for me and my wife and water for the animals and electricity
I have family back east in the North Carolina South Carolina area growing up I worked on their farms with cattle pigs chickens and various vegetables and other plants
Short term I want to make a commercially viable farm to supply eggs meat and vegetables to local people and to businesses and restaurants. And to establish my farm as a place to buy quality products from and to create relationships to customers and people in the community. Also to establish my name in the farming community and to learn more about growing different vegetables and herbs and to do as much as I can organically with raising the chickens vegetables and pigs
For the long term I’m looking at owning my own property may be also two different properties and to keep the farm and going on both properties and have a farm stand and to sell my products at local farmers markets. Wanting to create something I can pass on to my kids
Looking for something for me and my wife preferably trailer or a standalone house or dwelling something a little bit more private because of my work schedule at present not wanting to wake everybody up when I have to go to work at 4 o’clock in the morning
For me I will greet everyone I meet with a handshake and a wave and a smile. I know there are people that think differently that I do and that’s not a problem. I enjoy hearing and talking to people of different races religions and Beliefs. If we were all the same we could learn nothing from each other.
