Looking for Land in the Willamette Valley for Small CSA/ Homestead

Hi! I am John, I currently work in Regenerative Agriculture as a self employed Marketing Director. I previously worked in healthcare but changed careers because when I started volunteering on local farms I knew I found my “people”. Farming combined health, and the outdoors and caring for the world around me, it just brought all the pieces together. I worked hard to get to where I am now, and I can’t wait to expand my farming dreams to having some land to foster on my own (with my wife and kids and hopefully some friends, family and volunteers). Like I said, I have volunteered on small no till farms, and grow compulsively in my backyard.

What are your short term goals for the land

Small CSA of vegetables and flowers. The goal is to use no-till practices as much as possible to maintain the biome of the soil. I would like to have a small area .25 acre or less dedicated to permaculture and expand it year after year as I learn more about it. After the first few years, expand to have volunteers and onsite education experiences for the local community.

What are your long term goals

Add small amounts of livestock that could help expand the CSA and my overall expertise as a farmer/ homesteader. By 5-10 years I would hopefully be a land owner.

Describe your housing needs

I am interested in living on the land with my small family, but willing to explore other options.

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?
