We are a small farm located in Boring, OR. We have leased land since 2014 and it is being sold so we are looking for one or more long-term lease opportunities. We raise angus-angus-x beef, hogs and chickens using rotational grazing and permaculture methods. We partner with a very large organic produce company to feed our animals organic produce scraps as well as organic spent grain. We do not use pesticides or chemicals of any kind. We are looking for pasture and wooded land. We would happily install fencing. We currently use solar/battery operated fences (and some permanent fencing). We would need access to some water for animals. We look forward to working with a land owner and to be excellent land stewards.
we need water availability for livestock. If there are electricity/barns/structures is a plus (we can build our own movable structures and use solar/battery power). Existing fencing is great or landowner must be open to some fence being installed. Would prefer land where chemicals have not been used but it is not necessary for it to be organic.
We have been farming in Boring since 2012. Farmer Mike has farmed all of his life. Mike has his permaculture design certificate received from Geoff Lawton, Darren Doherty (2007). Classes with Sepp Holtzer.
We would like to build soil fertility and continue to increase our angus herd, layer chickens and add lambs to the mix. We currently sell to customers, restaurants in Portland/Vancouver metro area. We would continue to grow our online business.
Have a sustaining farm business and include options for interns to participate. Continue to grow online farm-to-consumer business.
