I am hoping to connect with someone with available land I can use to cultivate flowers and specialty produce for local farmers markets and local businesses. I am committed to wholesome farming practices including Organic, Biodynamic, some no till and some low water applications. My intent is to grow healthy, beautiful flowers and produce while making the soil more nutritious and rich at the end of each growing season.
Essentials are water availability. Tools would be prefered but not required, storage on site is essential, and space to camp.
For the last 4 years I have been working for Landscaping, Nurseries and greenhouses on the East Coast and now in Oregon. I worked with WWOOF in Hood River, OR and in Central America on multipurpose farms from 2010 to 2012. From 2014 to 2016 I lived on a 4 acre farm production in Massachusetts where we cultivated fruit trees, root vegetables, fruiting vegetables, flowers, developed compost, amended soil as needed, built earthen structures including sheds and solar towers, developed irrigation and sold produce to local restaurants and farmers markets.
Short term goals include building an organic flower production for wholesale to local businesses and enthusiasts. Also, experimenting with specialty and underutilized produce.
Long term goals include having invested in a property while increasing the soil health and production quality. Other goals include operating successful, small and local flower and produce business as a resource for the northern and central Willamette Valley.
I currently live in Newberg, OR. I am willing to travel a short distance as needed, but would like a place to sleep onsite when needed- at the very least having space to pitch a tent would be most welcome.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
