Hello. My name is Victoria. I am interested in a long-term lease / potential to buy small farm/homestead near Portland.
It would need to have a private home. A second house on a larger piece of land would be perfect. Currently we are on a quarter acre in the city. We have goats, rabbits, ducks, cats, dogs and chickens. My ideal property (or portion of property) would be 2-5 acres with water rights. Easy distance from Portland is preferred. My “day job” is all remote on east coast time. I just need a high speed internet connection.
Eventually I will be ramping up a company called Homestead Economics offering a schools out program and homeschool enrichment programs for jr homesteaders. They will learn the homesteading arts and the economics behind the alternative marketplace by participating in the selling of what they have grown, raised or made. Part of my interest lays in wildcrafting and making herbal medicine…so some undeveloped forest or meadow would be nice.
I will need access to a barn and fenced in area.
I believe in being a good steward of the land, strong members of the community and empathic to all living things. Although we use animal products such as eggs, honey, beeswax, wool, etc. we do not butcher.
I admit that animal care and more “inside” homesteading skills are my strong suit. I can grow a garden but would love to partner with someone willing to teach me more of larger scale organic farming.
Please let me know if you would be interested in talking collaboration!
Water rights, electricity, internet access, structures build or buildable, wildcrafting location.
I have an urban homestead on a quarter acre in SE Portland. As a child I lived with my uncle who was the town butcher. There were lots of farm animals, large gardens, etc.
Add a classroom, barn and fencing
More animals (milking goats, maybe a couple sheep and a mini donkey)
Day camps and classes at the farm
Grow organic veggie starts
Put in a fruit and nut orchard
Have a farm stand (potentially)
Eventually I would like to create an authentic off grid homesteading experience.
Completely organic and green certified
I would rent my current property in SE Portland. One the property I would need a 2 bedroom, 1 bath home. Prefer a small cottage type home.
