Land Seeker Description

We are a young 30 y/o couple who both grew up in agriculture in the North Western United States. We both have experience with traditional Cattle production as well as more modern sustainable methods. We hope to expand into a Grass fed, beef and dairy operation and integrated poultry and egg production utilizing a CSA method to market our product. We are both female, and simply desire to continue our passion for agriculture and are humbly asking for the opportunity to do what we love. We hope to begin operation by the beginning of next year.

What features of the property are essential?

Pasture and availability to plant native grasses. Infrastructure for livestock or ability to build and improve infrastructure including those required for both dairy and beef cattle.

Describe your farming experience

I grew up on a cattle ranch in Eastern Montana and have recently lived, worked, volunteered and helped on smaller sustainable farms, ranches and communities in the past 7 or so years.

What are your short term goals for the land

Short term plans are to implement a smaller scale rotational grazing system that would include dairy cattle, beef cattle, possibly sheep and hogs, and pastured poultry and mobile egg layers. Starting with the less expensive animals and building or improving apon avalible infrastructure as needed and as our finances allow while we gain our footing.

What are your long term goals

To develop a larger scale sustainable livestock operation leasing verious properties as availability allows and developing a reputable grass fed beef and dairy brand.

We would require housing on or near our leased property.

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

Absolutely, both my partner and myself are Transgender women who grew up in agriculture and we belive in sharing our knowledge with other marginalized communities and community members.
