Land Seeker Description

My wife and I are looking for a home and small space of land where we can raise our children and live as sustainably as possible. We hope to raise chickens, vegetables, fruits, and perhaps fiber animals, as we have weaving and dyeing talents.

What features of the property are essential?

Watering capabilities, housing, electricity, sewer/septic, land for growing food

Describe your farming experience

My parents raised pigs and chickens and had extensive backyard gardens throughout my childhood and growing up. I have had vegetable gardens.

Are you currently farming?

No

What are your short term goals for the land

We would like to grow/raise enough food to be self sustaining for our family diet in five years, with enough extra to sell at farmers market or provide to local CSA.

What are your long term goals

Build up ability to more fully provide to local CSA, restaurants, develop lines of homemade products (soaps, salves, vinegars, etc.) to be sold locally.

Describe your housing needs

We need 3-4 bedrooms to accommodate our family.
