We are Eric (35), Amber (41), Sequoia (6) and Marley (dog) We have been living in Bend for the last two years and are looking to put down roots. We have experience in the trades, woodwork, arts and medium-scale gardening. Our dream is to one day build our own house and create our own homestead. Eric is a local general contractor/handyman & Amber is a full-time homeschool teacher to Sequoia/gardener/artist.
Currently we are looking for a farm where we can collaborate with like-minded individuals and use our skills to help build, maintain and enrich the land. Ideally we would like to grow food crops (maybe for market/donation) and learn to raise small livestock (chickens, goats, pig). We have lived on another small vegetable farm/vineyard in our trailer before in Sonoma County, CA.
We are reaching out to make connections and see what may be a good fit. Ideally, we are looking for a work-trade arrangement, however we are open to any other creative ideas/solutions.
Room to cultivate food crops and build (or utilize existing) greenhouses/hoop houses; looking to build infrastructure that will help us extend the growing season. Possibility of utilizing or renting or building a "shop" space for woodworking/contracting projects.
Backyard and small scale urban farm-style. Experience with hydroponic gardening, indoor gardening and some nursery experience.
Collaboration and growth. Learning as much as we can and making the farm our main focus.
Purchase our own land in 2 to 5 years.
We would prefer to utilize housing that is already on the property, but we are open to providing a yurt or other structure for ourselves.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
