Would you like to take an extended leave from your homestead and know that while you are away your home is in good hands? I am a farmer and my partner is a Dr of Naturopathic Medicine. We plan on living in the greater Portland area for about another two years before potentially moving closer to family. We have all the essential skills, ability and level of responsibility to care for a home, livestock, garden and general property maintenance. We embrace living close to the land and find great fulfillment in nurturing life and caring for our surroundings. We are open to lease for labor, lease for cash or a blend of both.

What features of the property are essential?

Within 30 minutes driving distance from NW Portland. House that is in good repair. Already here or permission to have chickens, goats, ducks, geese, rabbits, garden.

Describe your farming experience

I have been involved in agriculture since childhood. Diary, pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, ducks, geese, gardening, butchering, sawmill. On my own I have managed small scale beef and dairy herd and large scale corn, soy, sorghum, cover crops.

What are your short term goals for the land

Maintain and improve small holding on behalf of the owner in exchange for lease. We hope to keep a garden, milking goats and other livestock for our own consumption and sharing with friends.

What are your long term goals

Continued study and development of the practices of biodynamic agriculture and other esoteric technologies and applying them to production scaled farms.

2 bedroom, 1-2 bath with a kitchen and living room.
