I have been farming for 7 years and have been running my own CSA farm business for 4 years in Corbett. I’m interested in maintaining my land in Corbett while also developing a new learning garden site in Portland. My vision is to develop a learning garden space that would balance productivity and education, featuring sustainable vegetable growing practices and on-site classes. I’m interested primarily in growing vegetables and facilitating garden and farm education, but I’m also interested in bees and pollinators, flowers, seed saving, mushrooms, and food preservation. My priority is to create a space that is safe, welcoming, community-based, and works with under-served populations. Thanks for reading!
A satisfactory soil test, on-site water. A greenhouse, small class setting or existing infrastructure is a plus but not required.
I have worked
In the first year I would prioritize developing infrastructure, soil testing, crop planning and assess community needs. My existing CSA program could provide several possibilities for connecting with the new site, such as a new CSA pickup location, work parties, classes, tool sharing, etc.
Establish a sustainable, permanent garden site for food production, classes, and community engagement. Seasonal vegetable production, bees, pollinator habitat, winter cover crops, seed saving projects, mushroom production, on-site classes.
I don't need housing
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
