I am a single father of 5 kids, 2 who are still living at home. A 17 year old boy and a nine year old girl. We currently live in Santa Maria California. For the last 20 years I have been working on two farms, one in Kansas and one in Arkansas. I am familiar with all aspects of irrigated (mostly water pivots) and dry-land farming. I am looking to relocate to Oregon and get back to the farm life. I love the quality of life that it provides. I currently live in a city with a population of 110,000 people and it seems far too crowded. I am willing to work with someone who needs help or even lease or lease to own property and housing.
All of these thins are nice: water rights, on-site sewer, on-site private well, irrigation structures, barns/structures, pasture, woodland, soil type, electricity, land that has been certified organic, but none of them are absolutely essential except electricity.
I have been working on two farms, one in Kansas and one in Arkansas. I am familiar with all aspects of irrigated (mostly water pivots) and dry-land farming. Familiar with tractors and various implements, combines, cottonpickers and various other equipment. I have farmed corn, wheat, soybeans, milo (sorghum) cotton, sunflowers and of course your everyday garden goods.
Short term plans would include getting established and getting the farm profitable.
Long term goals would be ownership or partial ownership of the land and home.
I will be needing a home for myself and two kids. A 2 bedroom minimum.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
