Land Seeker Description

1. My name is Natalia and I grow vegetables and medicinal herbs for various small markets around Portland, Mollala, and Tualatin. Sometimes I also provide gardening workshops for beginners. I am looking for more land that I can grow on now that I am getting more opportunities for bigger orders. I am also open to creating/collaborating with others farmers who are interested in providing opportunities for those who wish to grow their own food and those who wish to see more community involvement/events outdoors.

What features of the property are essential?

I prefer to have water rights/a well on property, but it is not a dealbreaker. Electricity is also preferred, but I have battery options for myself. I can work with any soil type; organic is preferred but not required.

Describe your farming experience

I have about ten years of farming experience, most of them with vegetables (tomatoes primarily). I’ve been growing medicinal herbs for three years, and working with berries and fruits for two years. When it comes to poultry, I have about seven years of experience, on and off.

What are your short term goals for the land

My short-term goals include expanding my clientele and introducing new kinds of produce and herbs for them. I also want to be more involved in planning outdoor events with likeminded people.

What are your long term goals

My long-term plan includes producing hydroponically grown produce, primarily mushrooms.

Describe your housing needs

I am open to any housing opportunity. I have a durable tent for when I am starting out on a bare piece of land, and I have built my own tiny home/outhouse two times before. I am renting a home at the moment, but would love a piece of land that I can live on. Electricity/septic is preferred but not required.

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

I am open to working with people of all backgrounds, orientations, genders, ethnicities, ages, and disabilities. It is very important for me that everyone feels welcome and supported, whether they are the landowner or my clients. Discrimination will not be tolerated as long as I have anything to do with it.
