Greetings,
We are a couple (32&24) looking for an opportunity to start a semi-long term farming business. I have experience with pastured poultry and pork, fruit trees and berries, vegetable row-cropping, and my partner has experience with commercial gourmet mushrooms. We are interested in finding property where we would be able to reside and invest in a commercial farming opportunity as well as a long-term homestead lifestyle. We would be very helpful hands to have around a homestead/farm operation, with significant experience in forestry, construction, farming, and land management.
We would like to have a place to live, and are open to building a tiny home, yurt, alternative construction, etc. I would like to have access to weatherproof shop-space for storage of tools/equipment.
I grew up on a farm with a variety of animals, and have spent many years in an out of WWOOF'ing, teaching gardening in outdoor education programs, and experimenting with small farm operations myself.
My partner has several years experience working at a commercial gourmet mushroom farm and working at the farmer's market.
Our goals are to locate a land-access opportunity where we can put roots down, develop primitive infrastructure, and transition away from off-farm income. Ideally we would like to invest in a diversified CSA type of program that offers pastured meat, regenerative veggie crops, potentially a milk share, or whatever the land is appropriate for. The goal is to make an income from a small farm.
Our long-term goals are to be part of a community that focuses on regenerative farming and community collaboration. Our goals are to be a model for regenerative farming and community food systems that are capable of replacing a significant portion of grocery purchased food at a reasonable price. We would like to provide our community with wholesome nutrition, improvement of land, and food sovereignty. Our goals are to homeschool our children and raise them in a homestead/farmstead lifestyle.
We are interested in somewhere that has housing or would accommodate a small home or yurt type of situation.
We respect all people and recognize that the greatest challenge for humanity right now is to simply see each other, recognize our individual stories, and appreciate and accept whatever we are all going through. We practice unconditional kindness and respect for people and seek to be in a place that supports this concept.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
