Beginning Farmers seeking long term farming opportunity 10-20 acres

Land Seeker Description

We are a family of three. Farming has been our dream for a long time. We saved a down payment just in time for the real estate market to go berzerk. We are interested in sustainable regenerative and organic methods of producing fruit, produce, grain, and cut flowers, as well as culinary mushroom cultivation and beekeeping. We want to raise goats for cheese. We are open to buying property, long term lease, lease to own, and even potentially partnering to live in community. We are also interested in making ceramics and metal art, and in hospitality, education and events. We have a four year old and an old hound dog. We currently live in Portland but are willing to consider anywhere in Oregon or Washington as long as there is a school.

What features of the property are essential?

Soil. Electricity or the capability to bring it. Housing and barn would be nice too.

Describe your farming experience

I have been growing nursery starts for a road side stand for the past four years. I am gardening communally with two other households and producing enough to feed our families. I've taken a multitude of courses offered by OHSU. My husband has a home mushroom operation that also feeds our family and many friends.
