What are your short term goals for the land

Our short-term goal for the family farm are is to start small with a large garden, and continue to help tend the crops that the current farmer is already working on.
Soil testing to establish the most beneficial and productive crops to suit the land and climate moving forward. We will then decide which crops will do best in the microclimate of our area. As we develop our plan, we will be using a Permaculture model to discover the water flow, solar aspects, soil content, and local need is. We intend to use a poly-crop system or food forest model, which is a little more labor-intensive, but more closely mimics how nature works. We plan on adding ducks and chickens for pest control and nutrient rich manure. We will establish bee boxes & plantings for pollinators, Building enclosure for chickens and ducks. Improving/ building main house/ADUs and structures for storage and processing.

What are your long term goals

Our long-term goal is to continue to build climate resilience, plant trees, add ponds and swales where needed. We will grow vegetables, mushrooms, and herbs for sale at local stores or restaurants. We would also like to incorporate cover crops and have a rotational practice for the animals to help soil regeneration.
Our family has a variety of skill sets, and we will utilize them to build strong, healthy soil, organized farm systems, develop infrastructure, and create opportunities for diverse income streams, focusing on those crops that are most regenerative and sustainable for the particular plot.
-Continuing to tend the land, develop our skills, teach others and share our knowledge & resources to help grow the Oregon farming community.
-Creating educational opportunities and continuing to build soil & climate sustainability over the long-term.
