Land Seeker Description

What features of the property are essential?

Pasture, electricity, organically practiced for all or most of the land. I’d prefer a field full of mixed native plants than one full of conventional farmed pasture.

Describe your farming experience

We’ve not had professional farming experience yet. Networked with farmers, grown our own food for many years, and studied. We’ve also started and ran a small business.

Are you currently farming?

No

What are your short term goals for the land

Meat chickens (5000-10000), milk cows, egg layers, flowers

What are your long term goals

Be a reliable source of food for the community. A gathering place for people to be intimately connected to their food and their place on the earth.

Describe your housing needs

If it’s close to Salem, OR we can commute and get our foot in the door and start small without housing. However, our long term goals would be to have a place we could have housing for us and our kids so that we could raise more complicated livestock which would require more supervision!

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

Love and serve people with kindness and grace.
