Seeking Land Collaborators

We’re a small family doing our own farm-steading thing– extensive gardening, fowl, rabbits, and bees.  We have 13 acres, limited water, a barn, a tractor, a field, lots of forest, a studio apartment, a tipi, and some fencing.  We’ve been developing toward permacultural principals.

We are interested in a landmate who wishes to participate in some of these activities and to add their own passion to the mix, we’re really interested in someone spearheading…?  What do you bring to the table?

Owner’s Short Term Vision for the Property

Keep honing the infustructure to support our multi-product farmstead activities.
Establish a solid vision for a scaleable land-based income.
Make sustainable connections with dedicated land-mates. The landmate would be competent in executing their own project/s, and interested/available in participating in some shared endeavors, such as the vegetable production, etc. and collaborating on overlap and stacked functionings.

Owner’s Long Term Vision for the Property

Streamline farm function/activities and successful business.
Offer public tours to demonstrate the productive "Dry Hill Water Farm" and Permaculture practices including native plant nursery efforts.
Enjoy sharing the land with another long-term resident/s.

Current Use

Property is in process of being perimeter fenced, pending money to finish project.
It is divided into zones. Kitchen garden near house, orchards and larger crops and animals, then woodlot zone including bees.
We farm most of our own food and bees. We're looking into edible/medicinal mushroom production.
Have been preoccupied with installing infrustructure to present.
As a classroom/home for two children.

Available Water / Irrigation

Permitted rainwater catchement system in place = exemption-- but at limited quantities.

Soil Type / Quality

Clay base.. and of course forest soil.
We're interested in soil building with cover crops, green manures, animals, mushroom compost and charged biochar.
Flat land is at a premium on our land-- we have 3 large terraces-- one is in use with a hoop house. There is also a field and a looped access road through the woods which could host a temporary grain crop, etc.
