Partnership/Lease: 1-3 Acres for Market Garden/Farm Stand in Ruch

Hello! I am looking for the right person to help develop an organic market garden on my property. We (my mother and I) recently purchased an 8 acre EFU property and have big plans for it. The ultimate goal is to create a sustainable, organic vegetable, herb, fruit and cut flower farm and farm stand and host events on the property.

I ended up actually closing on the property much later in the year than expected. I was attending the Master Gardener’s Training Program for the first part of the year before the COVID pandemic struck and all associated activities were cancelled. Now due to the season already being underway, my education and training resource being put on hold, and the lack of physical help, I am reaching out to find a partner in developing the Market garden. I am looking for someone with more knowledge and experience who is willing to work with the overall vision for the property.

My personal interest lies in developing the cut flower and event business and the farm as a whole, so I am looking to delegate or partially outsource this particular part of this vision, or under the perfect circumstances find a partner for this portion of the venture. However, I am open to discussing some different options/levels of involvement on both ends for this arrangement.

Specifically what I am looking for in the right candidate:

-Farming experience, specifically organic food farming practices, preferably having farm management experience

-Must produce a business plan and year round crop plan, as well as short and long term goals

-ability to perform the physical labor required

-have the financial capital available to lease and develop the garden and build infrastructure or invest in doing so as partners

-have your own housing, as there is none currently available on site

-strong work ethic and business sense

-compatible in ideals and willing to work with the vision of the property as a whole

-Experience with irrigation, equipment, and carpentry would be helpful

-bonus if you have broader knowledge of wine grapes or winemaking, as there are some established grapes on the property.

What I am really looking for is an honest, hardworking, goal oriented, passionate farmer to help me build this vision and contribute their own.

The property is located in a beautiful, touristy area known as the Applegate Valley Wine Trail. We are planning to permit the building on the property as a farm stand to be able to sell the produce on-site, as well as possibly branch out to other markets. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the right person and I look forward to hearing about you, your experience, your ideas, and your plans, and potentially discussing how we could work together!
