Partnership/Lease: 1-3 Acres with Farm Stand/Vineyard in Ruch


Hello! Last year we purchased an 8 acre EFU property in Ruch, Oregon, with the intention of building a farmstand and also hosting events. I am interested in leasing a portion of my land or possibly partnering with the right person to fill out my farmstand and share the workload.

Last year, I attempted about 2 acres of both vegetable and cut flower production, while also doing major renovations to the property, buildings, and landscaping, and building infrastructure. While I made it through, I quickly realized that I took on too much, and would have to prioritize my time and focus. I am much more passionate about cut flowers, and have decided to expand my flower production and business, as well as focus on building the event business and the farm as a whole. I currently have about 2 acres of cut flower production and a small vineyard. I will be selling my flowers at a farmstand on the property, at local farmers markets, and also hope to host my own local farmers market on the farm by late spring. I would still love to fill out the farmstand with produce, but I am hoping to find the right person to take over the food production on the farm, whether through a land lease or partnership.

(I would also love to find someone to lease the small vineyard, possibly a hobby winemaker.)

Specifically what I am looking for in the right candidate:

-Farming experience, specifically organic food farming practices

-Must produce a business plan and year round crop plan, as well as short and long term goals

-ability to perform the physical labor required

-have the financial capital available to lease and develop the garden and build infrastructure or invest in doing so as partners

-have your own housing, as there is none currently available on site

-strong work ethic and business sense

-compatible in ideals and willing to work with the vision of the property as a whole

-Experience with irrigation, equipment, or carpentry would be helpful

-bonus if you have broader knowledge of wine grapes or winemaking, as there are some established grapes on the property.

What I am really looking for is an honest, hardworking, goal oriented, passionate farmer to help me build this vision and contribute their own.

The property is located in a beautiful, touristy area known as the Applegate Valley Wine Trail. We have a farm stand to be able to sell the produce on-site. There is also a beautiful barn which was converted into tasting room, so I’d love to hear from winemakers as well! This will be a wonderful opportunity for the right person and I look forward to hearing about you, your experience, your ideas, and your plans, and potentially discussing how we could work together!

Was being operated as an offsite tasting room years ago. Established grapes and lavender. We currently have 2 acres of cut flower production and a farmstand for selling flowers and bouquets, and hope to begin hosting events.

2.5 acres of water rights and 10 GPM well, with potential to set up and irrigate 8 acres off pond

Soil Type / Quality

Had the soil tested in current fields and have results in hand. Good soil quality. Have been amending current fields with compost and slowly cover cropping new planting areas.
