Seeking a motivated person or couple to help us develop a sustainable farm model on an amazing 100+ year old farmstead. We are in the beginning phase of restoration of a unique property which has a broad range of ecosystems including irrigated and non-irrigated pastures, mix-species woodlands, gardens, an orchard, and a riparian area. We have successfully implemented managed intensive grazing on our irrigated pastures with cattle the past couple years and would like to expand the grazing of other livestock species throughout the property. We are particularly interested in trying to develop a model for sustainable forest restoration using livestock. We have also initiated farm stays on the property and believe that ecotourism will play an important part of the future economic success of the property. In summary, we want to create a small community centered on sustainability, have the underlying infrastructure to support a wide range of agricultural/ecotourism opportunities, and are now looking for the right people to team up with.
Continue to improve infrastructure to support managed intensive grazing (upgrading irrigation system and fencing), improve outbuilding structures to support agro-tourism, improve and expand vegetable and flower garden areas.
A working/teaching model of environmental and economic sustainability on a unique property that supports a small community of like-minded people. Creating a model for the future and leaving this world a better place.
