Lease/Creative Solution Sustainable/Permaculture Opportunity outside Portland

A complex property with standing timber, fruit trees, pasture and gardens, multiple residences and existing stakeholders.

Owner’s Short Term Vision for the Property

Developing a community of people and activities centered on making the land better, farming carbon, using local resources. Looking for people who can contribute to the overall composition & activities of people on the land - The owner has a strong inclination to Permaculture but a PDC isn't required (doesn't hurt either...) ... but if you're interested in some of the concepts underlying the buzzwords of organic, biodynamic, permaculture, agroforestry, regenerative, carbon-farming then you might be in the right place. You don't HAVE to be working the land to be there but an interest in mushrooms, medicinal herbs, fruit, specialty livestock, etc OR an appropriate home-based business OR just an interest in living in such a place might be a fit.

The general plan is to "share" the house and then have each tenant with their own "detached bedroom" in the form of a yurt, trailer, tiny home, trailer, etc. This arrangement gives everyone access to baths & toilets, laundry, kitchen, common space and ensures that there is plenty of space to retreat to.

Owner’s Long Term Vision for the Property

I wish our actions on this land would Save the World. That's a nice idea, but the vision is complex and depends in large part on the folks who live there. But generally its a property to hold, improve, use to educate and demonstrate

Current Use

There are multiple parties with multiple uses... the owner maintains a small herd of cows that utilize most of the pasture. Two separate tenants have vegetable gardens and small livestock (predominantly poultry). The orchard needs attention, but produces a lot of animal feed at the moment! The timber stands are being managed sustainably (no clear cuts). Another tenant will be developing a woodshop and woodworking business.
