Land for lease, 1-40 acres in Amity/Polk County

Our gorgeous farm is on 86 acres located west of Amity.  It is 25 min from Mcminville and Salem and is 1.5 hours from Portland. It consists of several mostly sloping fields and there are 38 acres of water rights which can be drawn from our on-site pond.  Catchment is also possible for watering as well as drawing from a community well for processing.  There is a large, worn dairy barn that could be utilized for processing or drying plant material and storing equipment.

We are new to the property so there is much to do and to learn about the site.  The soil is primarily hazelair and we have done soil tests on a 2 acre grid which reveals an opportunity to work on regenerative practices.  The land has been conventionally farmed in annual ryegrass for at least two decades and a plan is in the works for terminating that crop.  There is excellent, all day sun exposure.  The farm is located within the Van Duzer Corridor so summer has afternoon winds.

We would like to cash lease a portion of the land to a farmer or farmer(s) and can provide some infrastructure.  It is possible to live on the property if farmer has their own trailer/yurt/tiny home.   Small livestock is ok as well as dogs who are behaved towards livestock/other dogs and people.  The location is stunning and borders other large farms yet is only 5 miles to Sheridan, 14 to McMinnville or 17 to Salem.  Currently the crops we are exploring for ourselves are barley, olives, culinary and medicinal herbs, tea and an oversized home garden aka “food forest”  Come build your dream while we build ours!
