Our 46-acre family farm in Lane County has five eco-systems which we would like utilized for its intended conscious farming purposes as well as for the study, education and conservation of these eco-systems by local schools, universities and organizations.
Approximately 20 acres pastureland, 15 acres wetland, 6 acres woodland-riparian, 5 acres oak savannah.
We are open to sharing the use of various parts of the property through lease agreements with the right-fit sustainable farmers, researchers and conservationists who are in alignment with our long-term legacy vision goals.
1) Pastureland: We would like the property utilized for its intended farming purposes in a sustainable, bio-dynamic and non-pesticide manner, which may mean rotating certain animals in sectioned and rotated pastures to to help naturally recondition the fallow pastureland soil.
2) Wetland: Study and preservation of seasonal resident beavers, wetland flora & fauna, bees and pollinators
3) Riparian & Woodland: Study and preservation of flora & fauna
4) Oak Savannah: Preservation and community enjoyment
The property is owned by a Family Trust whose intention is to consciously steward this legacy property during their lifetime, creating a space for local organizations, schools and universities to utilize the land for community education on sustainable bio-dynamic farming practices, eco-preservation and living in right relationship to Nature, the by-product of which is a holistic approach to personal and community health and wellness. The Family Trust has plans to gift said Property to a non-profit conservation organization who will carry on with the Family Trust vision and Missio Statement
The property used to be a hay farm about 12 years ago. It has been sitting fallow and currently used for grazing 4-5 tenant horses. There are two residences on the property, one Owner’s house, one tenant / caretaker’s house, one barn with five stalls and small indoor riding arena currently housing tenant’s tractor and owner’s tractor & trailer, one owner’s workshop and garage for owner’s private use only.
