For Lease or possible sale portion or entirety of 7.12 acres in Marion County

Description

I have a property that is being very underutilized, we are looking in to options of leasing out a portion of the land and open to hearing what people may be looking for! We’re just outside of Salem, OR- not comfortable providing an exact location at this time. I have 7.12 acres with two commercial greenhouses, a home (in which I currently reside), a garage building (also in use) and a barn (not in use and available for lease). We are currently using a very small fraction of our land for flower farming and growing our own fruits/veggies with a hope of getting more into permaculture style farming. At this point a large portion of our land is not being used and is proving difficult to maintain for us as we also work other jobs. We would also consider leasing out one of our greenhouses. There is partial fencing and we would not say no to more fencing being put up. We do not use pesticides and will not allow them to be used.

We have water rights with a creek along the back of our property and a pumphouse. There are disconnected power lines that seem as though they used to go to the barn- we’re looking into what it would take to get power back out there. If someone were to offer us a good price we would consider selling our current land to get something more manageable for what we want to do. We are new to farming ourselves and are not able to mentor but would love to have people willing to work/learn together. We would be opening to allowing tenancy on property but this would increase the cost and leaser would be responsible for finding a solution like an RV/trailer, tent, etc.

Owner’s Short Term Vision for the Property

Our short term vision is for the unutilized land to be more than unused! We bought the property for the amazing greenhouses, creek, and the ability to have dual living in the home. The acreage was a plus but we don't have the means to grow into so much space quickly, we also don't know if we ever will.

Owner’s Long Term Vision for the Property

This is tricky! At this point we don't know what the long term will be. We want to get the land back to a place in which it's being better utilized and we want to heal it from the practices that were used before we moved here. We've had to remove (and still have loads to remove) so much weed cloth with several inches of sod and weeds grown through it and have found impacted soil that needs help to heal. There were also loads of invasive species planted here that we are slowly trying to eradicate so we can get the land back to a place in which it's better able to support the local ecosystem.
