This property has about 4 flat acres, with about an acre suitable for planting. The other flat portion of the land is fully fenced with a small barn that recently housed sheep that grazed the land. I’m looking to someone to farm using sustainable farming practices and also have animals to utilize the other portion of the land. In addition to the 4 acres, there are 14 wooded acres that are also fenced. A few spots need a bit of repair. The property has a house which comes with whatever deal we can work out.
This could be a straight lease but I’m open to other types of arrangements. I want to support the farmer on the land and can be flexible with the terms/cost.
The property has good water and electricity.
I want to support local family farming and hope to find someone who can use the land to support local food production. Ideally there would also be animals on the other part of the property, whether for food or fiber or just to keep the grass and blackberries under control.
There is a second house on the property (both are fully permitted). I'm in my 50s, living outside the local area but I'm hoping to retire and move to the property and live in the other house. I think this is a unique opportunity. With two homes on the property as long as you are making good use of the land (growing food and animals) you can stay in the house for a long very time.
It's not being used now. There are some mature fruit trees and there were sheep on the land, and horsed before that.
Water rights for farming and animals
Small barn, storage areas
