For Lease in Yamhill County

Description

Flat parcel with excellent Laurelwood soils and exposure that has been farmed spray free and no-till/minimal till since 1999. Looking to lease out a portion of our 9 acre property (exact size negotiable) that includes a vegetable/annual growing area with all systems already in place (drip irrigation, fences, very reliable water, outdoor packing area and shed). We have easy access to Portland about 20 miles away and about 2 miles from Newberg. We are scaling down our farm operation. Southern exposure with forest buffers on 2 sides, diverse habitat, spray-free, Oregon Bee Project Flagship Farm.

Owner’s Short Term Vision for the Property

The area for lease is shown in the photo. We are planning to close out our vegetable season and discontinue growing vegetables for market to focus on our small fruit and herbs. We are in the process of closing down and emptying out vegetable rows, not planting new crops as we complete a harvest and clean up, so transition could be made in for sowing overwintering fall crops. There is room to expand this growing area into existing pasture.

Owner’s Long Term Vision for the Property

We would like to continue our projects planting native buffers in our seasonal creek area, but continue farming in our small fruit and herb area. Would also like to install water collection tanks to use for irrigation.
