Need land? Want to raise happy grass-fed cows? Let’s talk. Currently have 3 open proven Black Angus cows, a yearling steer and a heifer, on approx. 7 acres with barn. I’m looking for an experienced cattle rancher to make use of this gorgeous land and expand the herd. Existing: approx 7 acres field fenced with 4-5 paddocks for rotational grazing, central ‘transfer station’ with movable panels, pole barn/shed with hay storage and winter shelter. Potential for 30 +/- acres total grass pasture, partially fenced. Power, water available. Not available for residence, we live here and zoning won’t allow another dwelling. We will work out a fair trade for any improvements you make including fencing. Property is located just north of Yamhill off Hwy 47. Maps, pictures available. Lease terms negotiable – land is not for sale. No cannabis or hemp cultivation.
We'd like an experienced livestock person to manage our existing 5 animals, with the potential to add more cattle on the unused pasture. The steer will be ready to slaughter either next fall or the following spring, depending on weight gain. The heifer will be one year old next February and she and the 3 cows will be ready to breed next spring. Hay in the barn will carry them to when the grass is ready. Beef from last year's steer is in the freezer for you to sample. My Angus cows are friendly, but not halter broke.
Long term, this is a perfect site to expand the herd, to possibly 10 cow/calf pairs and 10 steers/heifers. The rest of the pasture needs some new and some repaired fencing. Other infrastructure improvements would be needed to expand. We have beautiful grass, recently chemical free: 15 acres were previously hayed over 10 years ago, and could use both reseeding and cow manure. No chemicals have been used on the land for at least 16 and possibly 26 years (when pastures were used for sheep). Let's talk about your interest in raising grass fed beef, and how we might partner.
