For lease: 27 acres in Oregon City

This farm has served the Portland metro area for 30-plus years. It is well-known as one of the first farm-to-table, direct market farms in the area. The location is peaceful, protected farmland, but it is also close to Portland and all it has to offer.

Owner’s Short Term Vision for the Property

We are open to discuss possible uses, but growing vegetables and fruits, etc. for delivery to local Portland area is ideal with this location. This farm has a history and reputation among Portland-area restaurants and markets.

Owner’s Long Term Vision for the Property

Open for discussion.

Current Use

From 1983 to 2014, we grew and delivered vegetables to markets, restaurants, and wholesalers in the Portland metro area on 1-10 acres. We also raised a small herd of cattle from 1983 to about 1999. Now we grow grass hay on the tillable pasture land. Some pasture is natural but not tillable.

Available Water / Irrigation

The land is bordered by two year-round creeks. A well (new pump) with underground line supplies the vegetable ground with water. 40' sections of 2-inch irrigation pipe with sprinklers are available. Drip irrigation also used, but new T-tape is needed. One creek has water rights, but water is limited in summer.

Soil Type / Quality

10-12 acres mostly flat Willamette and Woodburn soils, excellent row crop land for vegetables and fruits and small hay field. The remainder is mixed use, rolling, with history of raising small cattle herd or feeders.

Buildings and Structures Available for Farm Use

A two-story farmhouse, occupied; a 24 by 48 greenhouse with propane heater and fans for propagation; small cooler located in cooling shed. Large older barn in good shape, with hay storage, feeders, lean-to and corral area, plus an older wooden granary for box storage, etc. Equipment storage area included in older carport area.

Farm Equipment Available for Use, Sale or Lease

For lease: International 274 cultivating tractor, small Kubota tractor with bucket, disc, seeding system, mechanical transplanters, cooler, sprayer -- everything needed for row crop production on up to 10 acres.

Any Restrictions That Could Limit Agricultural Production

Entire property is zoned exclusive farm use. Water rights from creek may have to be renewed, but the well covers the row crop land.
