Four families live together in the beautiful valley just outside of McMinnville. We have a big garden, orchard, small herd of goats and chickens and beautiful forest lands which we have been replanting to enhance native species. One family will be leaving by next summer and we will be open to a new party joining our casual community, especially one who is looking for land to farm, raise/graze animals or some other earth-care/farm-related endeavor.
We seek kind, hard-working, responsible, earth-loving people who understand the concept of interedependence and want to do their fair share while also growing their own entrprise/pursuing their dream on land.
Our farm has 25 acres of fenced pasture, 22 of which we currently hay. The home is a three bedroom, well-cared for manufactured home. The property has open valley land, forest lands, hiking trails, beautiful views, a pond and lots of newer trees and native plants which we are tending. We don’t have water rights, so water harvesting would be necessary for most growing endeavors. We have space in a greenhouse for some cultivation and would be open to figuring out how your growing endeavor could thrive here.
Any one interested party should think hard about whether they really are a team players and willing not only to be responsible but also to challenge themselves to communicate well and work toward the good of the group in addition to their own needs. We look forward to hearing from you!
We will be remodeling the three bedroom manufactured home that will be for lease and we'd love to have someone in there that wants to join us on our community adventure. We also are excited about providing space for entrepreneurs to cultivate their dreams too, as long as they are responsible and willing to contribute to the community/farm.
Our long term vision, as our kids grow up and move away is for reliable, fun-loving, capable people to join us in cultivating the land maximally and most responsibly, caring for animals and being a part of this farm that we are so proud of. We would like to expand our ability to enhance wildlife habitat and conservation practices. While we are not interested in selling the land, we have had a wonderful relationship with one of our families who has lived here for 15 years, so it's not a transitory place, it's a place many people call "home." We are not ignorant to the fact that we are getting older and can always use more farm help. We believe that the farm itself and the infrastructure we've created over the years offers a lot to folks who can benefit for themselves while also conntributing to making the farm a great place. We seek folks who can actively collaborate and are willing to compromise and communicate effectively.
We grow vegetables, flowers, hay, orchard fruits on a small scale. We have planted 22,000 trees and native plants in the last 22 years and we are helping them stay alive. We raise chickens for eggs, graze a small herd of goats and have one horse. We host several events a year to enhance people's lives (music, comedy, fundraisers) and our farm is a place that lots of people come for healing and connection, a place that our kids' friends have grown up knowing and loving. Our wider community has been instrumental in helping us plant trees and plants in the last five years. We seek to improve the world by creating and sustaining positive community and community projects.
No water rights, it's a well and the farming plan would have to use limited water or have a plan to collect water for that purpose.

We have space in a greenhouse, and animal barn, that could possibly be used for a farmer's project. Space available depends on the farmer's needs and how it might mesh with the community's projects; we are willing to discuss options.
This is all negotiable, depending on the talents, experience and willingness of the farmer.
The limitation to water is the biggest challenge. We also want farmers who are careful with the earth, leaning toward organic and thoughtful cultivation/business practices.

We value open communication and exchange of ideas and will welcome people who have experience valuing and communicating with others who have different values and experiences.
