Tiny cottage, half acre (50 100-foot rows) certified organic garden, fruit trees, bunkhouse with two sets of bunk beds, chicken coop and duck duplex would be excellent opportunity to produce modest income and all of one’s own food. Owner must sort and minimize contents of old farmhouse before it can be included. Yards could be grazed by livestock, rather than mowed, if tenant desires livestock.
The land is held in a family trust for which I am the trustee. I hope to find an individual with the skills and experience to use hand tools and power tools, a delight in raising plants and livestock, and a progressive world view including regenerative soil care. I want to focus my efforts on sorting and clearing the old farmhouse.
The trust holding title to the land will terminate when my sister and I both die. When the trust terminates my son and daughter will hold title to the land. Neither of them intends to be a farmer. I hope the farm flourishes.
During the global pandemic, I am simply trying to keep weeds at bay. In prior years my husband and I operated a certified organic farm. The field and pasture have been leased to a young farmer.
Water right from creek passing through property and from irrigation ditch. The cottage has city water and sewer.
Soil is fertile valley bottom soil
small barn with chicken coop and storage area, duplex for ducks, wood working shop could be included
Small John Deere tractor, gas weeders, numerous hand tools, woodworking shop with numerous wood working tools available in lease.
