An Urban Farm/Market Garden ready to go! 1 acre residential lot with 1/4 acre already in production with permanent beds. This has been a successful small-scale vegetable farm for 5 years and now we are moving to a larger property. Potential to lease the 2 bedroom house as well or just the farm area behind the house.
Support a beginning farmer in getting their business up and running. Ideally mixed vegetables, herbs and flowers, but am open to other ideas.
Short answer is it depends. We are moving Sweet Union operations to a different property, but holding onto this property and hoping to lease it to a beginning farmer. There may be a future in which this is converted into a more public facing farm-store location and/or u-pick but it's too early to know. If someone is successful and wants to lease it for longer than 1 season, then we would be open to that discussion.
Intensively managed for the last five years as a mixed vegetable CSA farm using ecological principles and organic practices. Converted to no/low till practices 2-3 years ago. Compost has been principle soil amendment.
Has water rights through Enterprise Irrigation district, but in dry years when we don't receive irrigation water, we have to use municipal water as a backup source.
Class II loam
