Spirit in the Sky Farmers Cooperative (http://www.spiritskyor.com) originated from the original Eclectic Institute farm.
Founded in the early 1990s, the farm was purchased by Dr. Ed Alstat with the intent to provide sustainably grown herbs for Eclectic Institute’s botanical preparations. The farm sustained Eclectic Institute’s raw material needs for 30 years.
When Dr. Alstat passed, the farm was handed to his three children, Nick, Katy & Bobby.
This trio of Alstats have chosen to convert the farm to an Oregon Tilth Certified Farmers Cooperative, providing land resources to farmers graduating from Farm Incubator Programs. This decision was made to honor their father’s dream of maintaining sustainable land for growing healthy crops.
We have three Farmers committed for Spring 2023- but are looking to lease as little as .5 acres all the way up to 50.
Plot sizes are negotiable as are housing arrangements.
Please join us on March 19, 2022 12-2 for an Open House. We will be taking applications at that time.
Please RSVP kathryn@spiritskyor.com | 503.956.2227 for more information and the address.
