Build an Operating Farm in Hood River on 8.6 Acres

8.6 acres in a beautiful and vibrant part of Oregon on the Columbia River, a very desirable place to live. The property has an old 2-bedroom farmhouse on it, which you can live in.

There is a hillside with 5 to 6 acres of growing space including 2 acres of grapes planted already, the rest unused acreage with great soils and irrigation water available. There is an additional 1.5 acres of flat garden growing space at the bottom of the property, by the house and all sits near a popular visible country road, Post Canyon Drive. There is an empty chicken coop, and an unused barn for storage.

I need a couple to LIVE ON, BUILD and RUN an organic farm. Nothing except the small vineyard growing yet, so the sky is the limit. Crops need to be planted, cared for, harvested, donated or sold at farm stands, the whole thing managed and run, like an owner would. I’d like to strive for eco, sustainable, low-carbon farming, and dream up what to plant and what the community would enjoy. Would like to install solar panels on the barn and put them to use. New tractor available.

Caretakers need to have a desire to stay for extended period of time, working the property, and build out your dream of farming in a great location. I don’t personally have the time to do this myself, but would enjoy seeing the farm take off. The house could be made available for those who want to live here and engage in this kind of work.

I’m all about community and would like to see this property become a more active part of it.
