Phoenix Farm is looking for new farmers who have completed internships and are ready to take it to the next level. We have the land, infrastructure, equipment, markets and expertise to help you explore your farming dream. We have four enterprises, Poultry & Rabbit Production, Vegetable and Grain Production, Value Added and Food Cart and a Goat Milk Herdshare. You pay a reasonable lease and keep profits above cost. You can live on farm. You can work trade part of the lease payment.

To demonstrate how to truly do sustainable farming, making it as much of a closed loop system as possible. Also demonstrating how to vertically integrate all aspects of farm production, using the multiple enterprise model.


Current Use

It is being farmed. Organic (not certified) vegetable and we have done quinoa. Meat goats that we also milk. Pastured poultry, meat and egg chickens and ducks and turkeys. Hay production 30 tons last year on 10 acres. This last year we raised 2000 meat chickens, 100 bird egg flock, 1000 meat ducks, 20 egg ducks, 60 turkeys, 60 head goats, over 100 meat rabbits, as well as two acres of vegetable production. We create our own compost. We feed spent grain from Plank Town Brewing. We have 4 different CSAs, have several restaurant accounts, do a farm stand on the weekends, and the Tuesday Lane Co. Farmers' Market.


Available Water / Irrigation

We have potable water for processing from a well and we have water rights to the McKenzie River and pump and lines that we use for irrigation and watering animals. May-Oct.


Soil Type / Quality

Bottom field next to McKenzie side channel level is sandy loam. The upper field is wet prairie, though we have improved about an acre for veggie production, mostly used as pasture, most is level there is some hill.


Buildings and Structures Available for Farm Use

Goat Barns, 30 x 80, greenhouse, rabbit barn, brooder house, vegetable and poultry processing facilities, workshop and shed with 4 large bays (usually stores our hay, we cut about 30 tons/year.) and feed. An 8x8 walk in cooler. Our main barn has solar panels that provide significant power for barn and shops.


Farm Equipment Available for Use, Sale or Lease

Tractor and implements, irrigation equipment, portable poultry and goat housing, shop with tools. ATV, farm truck, dump trailer. Portable electronet fencing for both poultry and goats. Several freezers.


Any Restrictions That Could Limit Agricultural Production

Land is owned by McKenzie River Trust. Bottom land cannot be used for grazing.
