We landed on our place in the spring of 2000 and have been actively farming here since then. Over the years we’ve done a variety of things: milk cows, market pigs, laying hens, broilers, and market garden, selling meat, milk, eggs and vegetables to a consistent group of families. In recent years we’ve added vegetable seed crops on contract, sheep, honeybees, and ducks. Throughout it all we have devoted ourselves to and maintained a draft horse powered capability, including hay making. We also cultivate a substantial home garden, including seed saving.
We have 50 acres available, and we are looking to connect with a grazier who will employ management intensive grazing principles and practices here with their animals.
Most of the place is currently in mixed species perennial forages, has had sheep and cattle rotationally grazed in recent 4 years, and is carrying a lot of feed.
Continue with our current activities with the addition of grazing animals.
