Our family operates a 30-acre urban farm, which we have owned for 75 years, in south Salem. The farm includes hayfield, pasture, wood lot, oak grove, mixed oak conifer forest with creek, and a menagerie of chickens, goats, llamas, sheep, and horses. We also have 3,000+ SF of gas heated, permanent greenhouse; barn storage and stables; tractor and implements; two wells (with potential for securing commercial water rights); extensive yard and work area, and a shop with tools and equipment. For the right fit, there may be an opportunity for onsite housing in a 3-bedroom caretakers cottage onsite. Being that we are in an urban site and not EFU zoning, we have some limitations on introducing “new” farming activities, but much of our existing activities (livestock, stabling, horticulture, vegetable production) can be continued. We are looking for an experienced team capable of maximizing the potential of this incredible urban location in the mid-Willamette Valley.
Partnership with a successful farmer with an established business and track record.
A successful, sustainable farm that contributes to the vitality of the urban community.
Two wells; potential to acquire water rights.
Jory; some nekia. Soil report available.
Barns, shops, greenhouses.
Fairly new Kubota tractor; implements; shop with tools.
Res Ag zoning, but many existing farming activities dating back generations have been "grandfathered" in. Any new, high nuisance farming activities - like a dairy, or agritourism - would not be allowed at this location. It is an urban location, so activities cannot be a nuisance to surrounding neighborhoods.
