This unique property of about 15 acres located on the Hood River, about 15 minutes from the town of Hood River, encompasses a variety of micro-climates ranging from flat farmland and riverfront to steep rocky outcroppings. About 2 to 3 acres is used for food cultivation, livestock and a fledgling food forest. Primary use for the past 5 years has been a market garden (mostly annual vegetables, herbs and flowers). Property also has established cherry trees, plum trees, table grapes, raspberries and other fruit trees and shrubs
For the past 5 years, we have hosted from 2-8 annual wwoofers to help with growing and processing produce to sell through a small local csa and farmer’s market. We are now seeking a pair of caretakers for our property as we transition out of farming and into other opportunities that will include some travelling. Our ideal short-term situation (1 year) would be to find a working relationship with a couple who wants to live onsite, share livestock care and use our infrastructure to farm. We still want to garden for ourselves and a small customer base we developed through our previous retail store, Grow Organic.
Over the next few years, we’d like to establish a schedule for us to leave the farm for longer periods of time.
