Mama Tee’s Farmstead is a diversified farm on a beautiful 10 acre piece of land a few miles from downtown Willamina, OR, a small community in Eastern Yamhill County, close to the coast, and in our Portland Chapter. There is approximately 2 acres in vegetable production, 3 acres of pasture for the chickens and goats, several high and low tunnels, a barn, living quarters, and an adjacent coniferous forest. They offer a CSA (Communtiy Supported Agriculture) subscription, sell direct at Farmer’s Markets on the coast and in Portland, provide some wholesale sales to the local school district and also sell preserves, pickles, and dried goods processed from farm produce. Although not certified organic, Mama Tee’s uses organic practices (crop rotation, cover crops, OMRI certified products), a mix of mechanized (walk-behind tractors) and manual labor (weeding, planting, harvesting, processing, etc), and pasture-raise our chickens and goats. The farm crew is typically a 2-3 person crew that is involved both with vegetable production and livestock management.
They are looking for 1 RFC intern and 1 RFC apprentice to join their crew this season to learn alongside farmers Carrie and PJ. Read more about Mama Tee’s here: https://www.roguefarmcorps.org/host-farms/mama-tees
