We are looking to hire a full time, year round employee for our growing sheep business. Some basic expectations- a willingness to work hard, and an interest in working with sheep; Some experience with horses, and the ability to use a rifle; confidence with trucks, trailers, and farm equipment a plus. A confident, self-starting individual will be given considerable responsibility, and become an integral part of the operation.
Working with the sheep throughout the year will involve: lambing in the spring at the ranch, living with the sheep at least part time in the mountains in the summer and moving them around lower valley pastures, checking on the sheep during the fall and winter in our winter pasture. Other tasks throughout the year include: building temporary electric fencing and permanent fencing is a project year round. Helping with the hay harvest in summer and helping stack hay in our barns. Occasional construction projects and odd’s and end’s chores.
