Now Hiring: Farm Manager – Full-Time (Independent Contractor)
Location: Portland, Oregon (40-acre regenerative farm)

We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Manager to lead the daily operations of our regenerative farm just outside Portland. While the property is 40 acres, the current primary cultivation focus is on about 2 acres of garlic production, alongside animal care and general land stewardship. This is a full-time, hands-on role for someone who takes initiative, enjoys working outdoors, and has a strong understanding of animal care, sustainable farming practices, and seasonal crop cycles.

This is a long-term opportunity with room to grow alongside the farm’s expanding projects in agritourism, wellness, and community engagement.


About the Farm

Our privately owned farm focuses on goats, sheep, garlic, and seasonal crops. We practice regenerative agriculture and are developing agritourism and wellness initiatives. The farm is a place of productivity, sustainability, and peace, and we’re looking for someone who shares these values to help shape its future.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily animal care (goats and sheep), including feeding, health checks, and rotational grazing

  • Manage planting, irrigation, soil health, crop maintenance, and harvesting

  • Maintain fencing, irrigation, composting, and other farm infrastructure

  • Operate and maintain tractors, mowers, and small equipment

  • Order and track supplies, feed, and inventory

  • Supervise seasonal workers or contractors when needed

  • Communicate regularly with owners and provide input on farm development projects


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of farm or ranch management experience (small livestock preferred)

  • Solid knowledge of regenerative agriculture and sustainable practices

  • Physically capable of outdoor labor in all weather conditions

  • Strong time management, organization, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and with integrity

  • Proficiency with basic farm equipment and tractor operation

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Liability insurance required (1099 contractor status)
