We are currently seeking to hire a Farm Sales Manager to join our team!

We are a year round 47 acre cut flower farm in Forest Grove that has been growing top quality flowers, woody stems, and foliage for over 30 years. Our farm grows peony, hydrangea, lilac, bittersweet, nandina, curly willow, ilex, and dozens of other products that our customers love. Because we have such a diverse range of products, we operate year round with products available in all seasons.

We sell the majority of our products to floral wholesalers in bulk, who then sell to floral retailers. But we also sell locally in the Portland Metro to grocery stores and other retailers that want the freshest northwest products. Our wholesale customers are nationwide, with most of our product going to PDX twice a week to serve wholesalers from coast to coast.

This job is primarily sales based, but involves managing inventory coming out of the farm, understanding what’s available to sell, ensuring quality of product going in the box, and coordinating shipping and invoicing on shipping days (2-3 per week).

It is also important to understand this is a solo office job, as we only have one person in the office. You will work closely with the two other managers that oversee the farm and the warehouse operations, and interact with the farm owner regarding purchases and expenses.

Most importantly, this is a fun industry with very passionate people that love flowers. There is always something to learn about the industry, it is always changing, and there is always something new.

Job Duties:

  • Estimate demand from customers in advance of orders in conjunction with farm manager
  • Manage availability of inventory coming from the farm into the cooler warehouse
  • Send out prices & availability to customers
  • Call/email customers to inquire about demand and make sales
  • Input orders from customers into Quickbooks
  • Create/update packing sheet for warehouse as orders are placed
  • Input invoices and send to customers
  • Create shipping documents with our freight providers
  • Create labels and ensure accuracy for shipping

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all sales to customers
  • Deliver a high quality customer experience
  • Ensure quality of products shipped
  • Accuracy in billing

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in flower farm sales or similar
  • Awareness of different types of flowers, foliage, and plants
  • Customer service attitude
  • Desire and ability to work solo in an office without direct oversight
