We are seeking a part-time Farm Worker/Handyperson. This position encompasses a variety of field work to assist a small scale, orchard, vegetable garden, and livestock farmstead. Must be, dependable, organized, and punctual. Specific tasks will vary by season and the needs of the operation. 
Job duties may include any of the following tasks:
· using our tractor/mower to mow non-grazed areas (some operational experience using riding mower is required). Experience providing for basic mechanical needs of mower is required. (ie; changing blades, oil changes, and other mechanical issues that may arise with all equipment.)
· pulling weeds, and trimming/pruning of small trees, shrubs and vines.
· maintaining the presentation/upkeep of the property by keeping it clean and clear of weeds, leaves, fallen fruit, dead-heading flowers, and filling in dirt holes. Walking the property and pulling any weeds or other plants that could be a nuisance.
· harvesting, cleaning, and packing
· maintenance of fruit trees, vegetables, perennial and woody field crops
· washing buckets, and clean-up of sheds and tools
· bonus if you have basic handyman skills including installation and maintenance of wire fencing, wooden posts, and gates
· experience working with livestock
Required Skills and Qualities
· able to lift, up to 50 lbs
· efficient and fast paced worker
· self-sufficient and able to take initiative to stay busy and productive
· experience in compost maintenance distribution
· able to take direction well, learn systems and be a team player
Experience and Training: Experience in farming, horticultural and/or greenhouse operation preferred.
This position requires professional references.
Job Type: Part-time, year round
Estimation of work time would be 4 to 6 hours, 4 to 5 days per week, 20-30 hrs per week. Can vary depending on season. Weekend availability a plus. Pay commiserate with experience.
