Maranatha Farms is a Non-profit farm that provides a safe environment for Alzheimer’s sufferers and their family members. The aim is to provide a safe place for people to visit with their Alzheimer’s family member. They can spend the day working on the farm planting, harvesting, collecting eggs, weeding, picking pumpkins, ect.

As a caregiver you must be able to interact with an elderly woman who has Alzheimer’s. You must cook, clean, engage her in helping around the house and farm. She will need a cue to perform her daily tasks (i.e., preparing her shower, reminding her to brush her teeth, etc.), you will follow a schedule specifically designed for her. Must be able to lift, drive, work the full shift without leaving for appointments, etc.

As an employee you must be able to tend to farm duties such as planting and harvesting produce, collecting eggs, feeding and tending to chickens, and typical farm duties for approximately 2-4 hours a day.

Employees will work 24 hour shifts with 8 hours of unpaid sleeping time. Therefore each shift will be paid as 16 hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Eating with the client
  • Cleaning the house
  • Laundry and linen changing
  • Bathing assistance
  • Dressing assistance
  • Help with medications
  • Household and farm chores
  • Weeding, gardening and vegetable picking
  • Collecting,washing and processing eggs
  • Tend to farm animals
