As a caregiver you will care for and interact with an elderly woman who has Alzheimer’s. You will follow a care plan of daily activities and care including bathing, dressing, medications, exercise and cuing. Your duties will include preparing meals, housekeeping, and some farm chores such as collecting eggs and farm/garden tasks. Must be able to lift, have a current drivers license, a clean driving record, and pass a background check.

You should be able to assist with and interested in farm duties such as planting and harvesting produce, collecting eggs, feeding and tending to chickens, and typical farm duties for approximately 2-4 hours a day. Maranatha Farms is a Non-profit farm that provides a safe environment for Alzheimer’s sufferers and their family members. The aim is to provide a safe place for people to visit with their Alzheimer’s family member. They can spend the day working on the farm planting, harvesting, collecting eggs, weeding, picking pumpkins, etc.

Care team members typically work two 24 hour shifts per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Care for Alzheimer’s patient
  • Meal planning and preparation and eating with the client
  • Housekeeping, including laundry and linen changing
  • Bathing & dressing assistance
  • Administer Medications
  • Assistance with Farm chores weeding, gardening and vegetable picking
  • Tend to chickens including collecting and washing eggs


  • Able to consistently maintain a designated routine and follow a schedule and care plan.
  • Self motivated and self starter
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Able to communicate verbally and electronically
  • Work 24 hour shifts
  • Prior Elder care experience
