Deck Family Farm is a diversified livestock grower located in Junction City Oregon, we are multigenerational farmers with over 40 years of combined livestock and farming experience.  Deck has significant experience working with the Farm Services Agency to implement creek restoration and reforestation programs, irrigation design and implementation, and increasing soil fertility and forage diversity.  

We are seeking additional forage/grazeland for beef (20+ acres), sheep (20+ acres), & or pigs (5+ acres) at a single or multiple sites. Currently grazing in Mohawk Valley, Junction City, and Veneta but open to other geographic locations in the valley or on the coast. Open to monthly or yearly lease.

What features of the property are essential?

Water right preferred, livestock water necessity, growing green pasture for majority of the year, shade or shelter desirable especially in warmer months, if for pigs, woodland highly desirable, certified organic a plus. Fencing is desirable but not necessary. Acreage must be within 40 miles of Junction City, or would consider larger acreage on the coast. Must have access for a truck and trailer to load and unload livestock in a safe location offset from the road.

Ranching in the Willamette Valley for 20 years. Expansive marketing experience. Successful long term collaborations with other growers and landholders.

Grazing livestock on pasture, improving soil fertility and organic matter through management intensive grazing and manure application.


What are your long term goals

Long term goals are to build relationships with landholders to restore nutrients, increase fertility, by building organic matter. Possibility of transitioning to certified organic, creek restoration and reforestation programs. Ensuring the future of ranching by basing business practices on three aspects of sustainability: environmental, humanitarian, and financial.
