Seeking Purchase, Lease, or Land Partnership near Corvallis

Land Seeker Description

Hello! I’m searching for a long-term opportunity—around three years—to lease, purchase, or partner on a piece of land where I can establish my home and farm, I’d be looking to move my home in April and join the land full time in July. My goal is to create a sustainable, small-scale commercial farm focused on vegetable production, goat dairy, and potentially other products, while contributing to the local community.

Currently, I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Ecological Engineering and an associate’s degree in Architectural Drafting and Design at Oregon State University. I also work an online job, which provides the financial stability to fund my education and living expenses. I am skilled in many aspects, from natural building, to plumbing, to (minor) electrical, gardening- I have a little experience in a lot of things! Over the past five years, I’ve traveled extensively, gaining valuable hands-on experience in different farming techniques and learning from diverse cultures- from the organic rice fields of Malaysia to the sheep fields in Iceland to my current gig, management of a lychee farm in Hawai’i, all of these opportunities have taught me so many valuable skills. Now, I’m ready to settle down and put all that knowledge into practice.

Outside of my work and studies, I’m an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, backpacking, hiking, reading, and spending time with friends.

I’m seeking a property with enough space to place my tiny home, raise goats, and cultivate a thriving farm. Ideally, the land would have fertile soil, access to water, and ample sunlight. I am open to leasing, forming a partnership, or purchasing, depending on the opportunity and fit. Happy to send a resume and CV to interested land owners.

What features of the property are essential?

A structure to use as a workshop would be great, land for goat pasture is a must (I will provide fencing if needed), fertile soil is a must

Describe your farming experience

I grew up in a cattle ranching family in Colorado, so I was always familiar with the complexities of farming and ranching. I started working in barns and hobby farms as a farmhand when I was 12. I got more into the management side of farming when I moved to the Big Island of Hawai'i 3 years ago and took over a Lychee orchard of 154 trees and an annual production of approx. 25,000 lbs. All of this is in addition to having my own gardens and working in food processing on our farm.

Are you currently farming?

Yes

What are your short term goals for the land

My short-term goals include moving my house onto a new piece of land, making the initial purchase and installation of materials, getting all the animals necessary for the business, as well as establishing a small market.

What are your long term goals

Long-term goals are to finish my degree as well as potentially pursuing a Masters concurrently with my Bachelors. Eventually I hope to buy my own farm in the next 10 years.

Describe your housing needs

I just need a flat place to park my tiny house- I am completely off-grid otherwise and do not produce much trash or anything.

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

As a Hispanic female farmer, I believe the land is a place where people from all walks of life can connect, grow, and feel at home. I’m committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment by fostering respect, celebrating diversity, and building community through shared work and open conversations. I also strive to educate others about sustainable farming practices and cultural awareness, using the farm as a space to learn, share, and grow together.
