Seeking Lease to barter, lease with option to buy, or partnership: Any acres in Washington county

Land Seeker Description

Hello, my name is Quinn O’Connor and I’m looking for generally any size piece of property and hopefully a mentorship to be self-sustainable and be able to provide for my family.

A little about me, I’m 21 years old. I presently work for Pro Tow in beaverton as a Tow Truck Operator. My wife is 22 and currently stays at home with out 6 month old to watch and raise her. Part of the reason we are looking for a partnership is because we want to learn as much as we can about farming and ranching due to our desire to own our own Cattle Ranch in the future. The other part is the living situations in city are becoming terrible and we hope to find someone to work out a deal or barter for a place to live and also learn the ins and outs.

We are hoping to find a partnership or a lease for barter to accomadate everyone’s needs. If those aren’t an option we would also consider a lease with a work trade or a lease for rent. We are open but wish for an option like that. We are both willing to put in the work for a partnership or barter. We look forward to someone reaching out to us. Have a wonderful day!

What features of the property are essential?

Water rights, electricity, house or place to live and preferably land that has been certified organic

Describe your farming experience

My wife and I have very little experience. I have helped out here and there on my uncle personal ranch just maintaining the property such as cutting down trees and clearing unwanted brush and bushes. My wife grew up her summers as a young child on her grandparents farm tending to horses, sheep, hogs, and alpacas. It has been quite awhile for her so she would like some mentorship to refresh her memory as well as learn some new ways to care for them.

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

Our short term would be within 4-5 years, we gain as much mentorship knowledge as we can so we can start to branch out on our own and be self sustainable and I can quit the day job or at least knock it down to part time. We also would like to be able to make a few business connection along with the farmers market to be able to bring in an income.

What are your long term goals

In 5-10 years our desire is to start our own Cattle ranch and be able to preferable lease or buy the land we have been working on for the last 5-10 years. If that isn't a possible venture then at least be able to purchase our own property to also sustain ourselves as well as give back and teach the younger generation what we have gained in knowledge.

Describe your housing needs

We have a 6 month old daughter, 2 cats and ourselves. We would like to find a property with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, but we will take what we can get as long as it is safe and a decent place to raise our daughter.
