Seeking Lease or Land Use License: 10-30 acres in Sweet Home, Lebanon area

Land Seeker Description

Dominion Farms LLC is a diverse operation that pastures dairy cows, beef cows, hogs for pork and breeding, piglets, chicken, duck and turkey.

Last year I ran 2000 chickens on a friends property in Sweet Home. All of these were sold to a store in Yamhill. In additon I have had sows farrow in a friend’s barn on another property. And I currently farm my parents property with dairy cows and hogs. As I expand though the need is becoming obvious for more land so as to not overtax what I have. I am working on getting a Farm GL to cover property owners I work with as well as myself, though I also am looking for someone to partner with for dairy cows not covered by an insurance policy.

I live right between Lebanon and Sweet Home, and would be looking for something in Sweet Home preferably.

What features of the property are essential?

Water - Electricity.
Preferred: Barns, sheds, Corrals.

Describe your farming experience

I interned at Polyface farms in Virginia, and worked at Tabula Rasa Farms, Pitchfork and Crow Farms, River Refuge Seed, and my own operation, Dominion Farms LLC.

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

Depending on the amount of acres, pasture to wooded ratio, and existing infrastructure on the property, would like to run at least two enterprises on the land most or all of the farming season.

What are your long term goals

Long term I would like to foster a good relationship with the owner and help him realize the potential in the land and see it thrive and put to good use.

Describe your housing needs

None currently.

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

I believe we all eat food and my heart is to help everyone eat better and be as healthy and whole as possible. I believe everyone is a brother and a sister and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I will not let my farming ambitions ride over other people, regardless of their background.
