My husband and I have been looking for a property for the last 3 years that we may use biodynamic farming practices to restore soil and create an edible landscape where we can call home. We have been studying biodynamic and regenerative practices for the last 10 years and on our last property (of 3 acres) tested the practices on a smaller scale and were very pleased with he results. We have continued those practices on our current property as well.
We would love to have a mentor, but if not possible we do have resources we can use in order to further our practice.
Water rights, electricity, pasture, woodland, septic, or availability for septic, internet connections (fiber availability preferable)
As stated above, our farming experience is limited- but we are eager to learn and are excited to build this farm as a community hub.
Short Term- we will be planting perennial and native plants that compliment each others chemical needs. We will likely start with chickens and ducks for meat and eggs as well as goats for land clearing.
We hope to start with a farm stand with the local farmers markets, with pick up for meat and eggs as well.
As the perennial plants begin to mature, we will source the fruit and veg to local stores as well as through a CSA and on site restaurant where we can utilize our own meat and produce for a farm to table experience. We also hope to include classes on growing your own food, soil health, and regenerative practices.
We have a large family, we have 6 children and two dogs along with my husband and I. So we would need a 4 bedroom or more preferably closer to 3600 square feet.
As a woman/minority owned business our aim is to not only foster an environment of inclusivity, but to engage the community in onsite education and safety practices before allowing any civilians to put themselves at risk.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
